Thomas Odey Magu got International appointment as one of the Executive Board member of the Governance Team of International Younger Chemist Network (IYCN).
He was appointed by the International Younger Chemist Network (IYCN) Executive Board as a member of the Governance team which will oversees IYCN membership requests and analytics, enforces and updates their Statutes & Bylaws, and plans the biennial IYCN General Assembly (the next World Congress of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) will be held from 13 – 20 August 2021 in Montréal, Canada.)
The governance team works on establishing and updating the IYCN statutes and by laws. Its role is to anticipate and resolve questions regarding governance (internal rules, formal relationship with IUPAC and other parties) that guide the actions of the network and guarantee the continuation of IYCN’s four-pillar mission (collaborate, communicate, educate, mentor).
The 48th World Chemistry Congress will be held jointly with the 51st IUPAC General Assembly and the 104th Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition (CCCE) under the theme “Solving Global Challenges with Chemistry”.
Thomas Odey Magu is a Lecturer in the Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He has won several national and International awards to his name.
