The Cross River Commissioner of Commerce, Pst RoseMary Archibong made this assertion at the Neighborhood Carewell Foundation 2021 Conference which held on 10th March at Club 520, Calabar.
Mrs Archibong, who spoke on the topic WOMEN ECONOMIC POWER AND HOW TO USE IT TO THEIR ADVANTAGE, posited that women are increasingly having more economic power based on their growing participation in the workforce, leadership and political engagements. Citing a few women of repute, the Commissioner stated that with the increase of women’s role in financial decisions leading to greater financial control, the woman’s influence in the family leads to quality life, peace, happiness, security, nourishment, unity in the home which directly reduces crime and societal ills.
The woman, she added has been described as the SUN; the full realization of this fact by the World and the inclusion of this largely excluded group will surely bring radiance and solution to the world’s problems.
The Executive Director of Neighborhood CareWell Foundation, Mrs Victoria Emah Emah said that the Conference, whose theme is WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP: ACHIEVING AN EQUAL FUTURE IN A COVID-19 world was facilitated by ActionAid, Global Affairs Canada with Vital Voices providing technical support.
