“WE WILL NOT BE PART OF THE LG POLL”- C’RIVER APC DECLARES

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River state has declared that it will not participate in the forthcoming Local Government elections slated for May, 30th 2020.

The party in a press release obtained by Genuinereports, declared that “the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River state will not be part of the charade on Saturday”.

The statement signed by the state Chairman, Sir John Ochala added that the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission has not carried the party along in the processes leading to the conduct of the elections and cannot issue a three day notice to an election of this magnitude.

It added that the party is in court with CROSIEC and the state government seeking to compel the electoral body to adhere strictly to the dictates of the constitution, Acts of the National Assembly and the Bye laws of the state electoral commission.

The statement added that ” We shall diligently continue to seek redress in the law court until justice prevails”.

Sir Ochala urged party faithfuls to remain calm and law abiding as they go about their lawful duties without hindrance.
