A 100 level University of Calabar student in the department of History and International Relations identified as Bako Veronica has committed suicide after been involved in online scam.

Information available to Genuine Reports indicates that the deceased had interaction with one of her Facebook friends about an online investment that would give her double of any amount she invested and after much persuasion, decided to make a transfer of N100,000 which happened to be her school fees which she was yet to pay before the pandemic break. She however realised that it was fake making her restless.

It was further revealed that, she started acting strange at home until her siblings discovered it. This drew the attention of their mother who asked her to draw up a list and go to the market. However, she requested to use the bathroom where she eventually stayed to take sniper.

Further investigation showed that the deceased struggled and eventually attracted the attention of her parent and neighbours who hurriedly went outside only to find their daughter lying on the ground.

It was discovered that the deceased left a note for the alleged scammer indicating that her blood will be upon his head. This gave them the clue to what really transpired.
