It was more of a festival of joy and an emotional celebration in Afiang Ayong, Bakassi LGA of Cross River State today, as the Bakassi IDPs were moved from their camps to a brand new permanent settlement, in the Ayade Social Housing Estate, built and furnished by Cross River State Governor Sir Ben Ayade.
The estate is made up of 2 bedroom and three bedroom bungalows, (52 units) in total. Built with the best standard of a housing estate such as power supply, water supply, asphalted road networks and landscaping.
Cross River State Governor Sir Ben Ayade was pictured sharing a meal with one of the widows from the Bakassi Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) Camp, shortly after her new house was allocated to her.
In the delegation was the chairman of the allocation Committee, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa who spearheaded the handing over of the houses to beneficiaries.
