Pelican Stars Female Football Club of Calabar on Wednesday played a 1-1 draw with the Royal Queens of Warri at the U.J Esuene Sport Stadium in Calabar.
Ukwoma Ogechi of Pelican Stars scored the first goal at the 10 minutes of the game, while Ochuchukwu Chiamaka of Royal Queens equalise for her team at the 60th minutes of play.
Both teams could not utilise their chances to their advantage with a view of scoring more goals during the game.
Speaking after the game, Chairman of Pelican Stars, Mr Sam Kombor, said that his team gave out their best, irrespective of the draw.
“Everyday is not the same. For today, our girls gave out their best, although we had a draw.
“Every match has it’s plan, the management of the team will go back to the drawing board and look at the mistake and correct them in subsequent matches,” he assured.
Coach of Royal Queens of Warri, Paul Mene, said that his expectations of winning the game was high.
“This match is supposed to be our winning match, but the girls failed to convert the chances they had into goals,” he said.
