A mass protest involving over 17,000 voters has erupted in Ekureku ward 1 & 2 as well as Igbo Imabana ward 1 & 2, both in Abi Local Government Area over alleged fake election result sheets.
The protesters are aggrieved over what they describe as injustice meted to them as the election materials brought by staff deployed by the Cross River Independent Electoral Commission were incomplete.
Investigation by Genuinereports reveals that the CROSIEC adhoc staff could not provide result sheets when the voters asked them for it before voting can commence.
Reacting, one of the adhoc staff who identified himself as Igboke Stanley stated that he has raised the issue to the Returning Officer in charge of the Local Government but no solution has been proffered so far.
When contacted, the DPO who was present at Imabana could not give details on the alleged fake election materials brought to the place as he declined comments on the issue.
As at the time of filing this report, the voters are still on the major roads demanding for the result sheets or they should be no voting in the area.
