By Bassey Asuquo

As the pandemonium continues in Calabar, Cross River State capital, Hoodlums have taken over houses of Senator Gershom Bassey, Senator representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District and former Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba who represented Cross River Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The hoodlums according to our findings invaded the houses of the Senators located at Asari Eso layout, Calabar Municipality local government area of Cross River State, on Saturday, October 24, 2020.

According a source, the hoodlums overpowered the security personnel guarding the houses and carted away with valuables, emptying the houses as well.

“The hoodlums came in their large numbers and burgled Senator Gershom Bassey’s residence. After the hoodlums overpowered the security men attached to the residence and almost collected their guns, they entered into the building, carrying anything they can lay their hands on. They were both males and females.

“Some went to Senator Ndoma-Egba’s house at the other side of Asari Eso and carted away properties. They were like swamps of locusts attacking a tree”, the source said.

Our Reporter also learnt that Polaris Bank located along Murtala Mohammed Highway, Calabar has also been attacked and policemen are unable to fire or apply force due to fear of consequences as unimaginable destructions continue in the nation’s capital.
