The Special Adviser on Climate Change to Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River, Chief Cyril Anthony Asuquo, has condemned the destruction of properties in government and private facilities including the private homes of some top individuals in Calabar.
Reacting to the ugly incident, Chief Asuquo said that the hoodlums should be made to face the full wrath of the law for invading government and private homes and looting away valuables worth millions of naira.
He called on residents in the state to support the state government’s effort in bringing the hoodlums to book. He commended Ayade for working closely with security operatives in the state to restore peace and order.
According to him, it was insane for anyone to break into the homes of a former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, Senator Gershom Bassey and other notable personalities in the state.
He also frowned at the level of destruction and burning down of government properties by the hoodlums.
He urged the state government to deal decisively with the ring leaders who carried out the looting that has shaken the state economy’s growth.
