GOV. AYADE’S AIDE CALLS FOR CALM OVER DEATH OF CEMENT REFILLER IN YAKURR

The Special Assistant to Governor Ben Ayade on Security, Yakurr local government area, Mr Cyril James-Omini, has called for calm and orderliness following the unknown cause of death of one Mr Etim at Idomi road, Ijiman-Ugep, Yakurr local government area of Cross River State.

James-Omini, who spoke with newsmen on Friday in Calabar said he was working closely with the police, traditional rulers and the local government Chairman with a view to unravel the cause of the dead.

The death body of the young man was found along the roadside on Thursday close to the boundary between Ugep and Idomi.

The Special Assistant called on youths in the area to be calm and law abiding and to allow peace to thrive while the security agencies do their work.

He warned that any youth who carry up any weapon against another will be arrested by the police, adding that the government will not tolerate any violence attack from any community.

An eyewitness, Mr Eteng Okoi, said that the young man went to Idomi village to work, been a cement refiller before he met his death.

“At the spot where he was lying, before the attention of passerby was drawn, cements dust was all over his body.

“We don’t really know what happened to him or what may have led to his death,” Okoi said.

The remains of the deceased have been evacuated by the police, with the cause of his death still unknown.
