EID MUBARAK: SEN. OWAN CALLS FOR PRAYERS TO END THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The Secretary of the APC National Reconciliation Committee and gubernatorial candidate of the party during the 2019 elections in Cross River state, Senator John Owan Enoh has called for sustained prayers for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic as he felicitates with Muslims on the occasion of 2020 Eid-el-fitr celebration.

Senator John described Eid-el-fitri celebration which comes after the month of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer and reflection for Muslims as one that depicts the joy and happiness which should come after a period of abstinence.

The Senator enjoined Muslims to observe this year’s celebration bearing in mind that the country and the world at large is battling with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. He urged them to remain steadfast in their prayers for the nation, use this period to show love to one another and cooperate with government in the fight against this contagious disease.

Senator Owan equally called on Nigerians to use the message of Sallah, which is a message of hope, love and goodwill to promote National Integration. He noted that in spite of the numerous challenges the country is facing, tolerance and a stronger sense of patriotism will help the country surmount her present health and economic challenges.

He prayed God to strengthen all Muslims as they strive to sustain the values and virtues learnt from the holy month of Ramadan.
