CRUTECH SET TO HOST OVER 30 UNIVERSITIES DURING THE HULTPRIZE REGIONAL COMPETITION

The Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) is set to host over 30 different universities in March, 2021 during the Regional HultPrize Competition.

HultPrize is an international organisation that provides a platform for young people to pitch their business ideas with the best ideas winning a startup prize of one million dollars.

The hultprize competition is aimed at building starts up that will have a positive impact on our planet, with every dollar earned.


With US$1,000,000 global startup prize, as its anchor activity, the Hult Prize has brought impact-focused programs, events, as well as training over a million students globally, creating a pathway for youth everywhere to take action to build a better world.

Hultprize which is present in over 3,000 campuses and 121 countries across the globe is a global foundation in partnership with United Nations, saddled with the responsibility of transforming how young people envision their own possibilities as leaders of change in the world around them with US$1,000 000 and its anchor programs.

The competition is made up of three stages which include the on-campus, regional and accelerator stages.

Speaking with CrutechPress, Team Head, Media and publicity of Hult prize Regionals, Mr. Daiok David said the Cross River University Of Technology will be hosting the on- campus hult prize event later this year.

According to him “The regionals will hold in March this year, and our institution has been chosen to host other campuses”.
He added that the school will meet up the necessary COVID-19 protocols.

According to him “We are able to meet up with neccesary guildlines, logistics and protocols as well as those regarding covid-19 pandemic.

“We will be having visitors from hult prize international coming into the country and our beloved school. This will be a major upliftment to the school on the global space. The Regional as quoted is what will now hold in CRUTECH, Calabar campus instead of Abuja”.
He added that ” Someone may ask why CRUTECH and I ask, why not CRUTECH, then just as it is and just as we have smashed the on-Campus that left them in awe, we can prove to them what Blazers Republic is made of.”

Recall that Team DC Stove of CRUTECH emerged the winner of the On-Campus challenge and are expected to represent the university in the upcoming Regional On-campus challenge.

This is going to be the first time that CRUTECH is playing host to the regionals of the Hultprize Challenge.
