Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulkadir Jimoh has released phone numbers for Cross Riverians to call in the event of distress during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration by Muslims.
CP Jimoh who felicitated with the Muslim faithfuls in the state provided the telephone numbers in a statement signed by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo.
The phone numbers to call include: 08133568456, 0807180750, 07031182216, 0803301704, 08068559326.
While assuring security of lives and properties during the celebration,
he said that arrangements have been made with other security agencies to ensure Muslims celebrate the Sallah peacefully in the state.
He advised that the use of face mask and observation of COVID-19 protocols should be of paramount during the celebrations.
According to the statement, “The Cross River State Police Command under the leadership of CP Abdulkadir Jimoh wishes to felicitate with the good people of Cross River State on the celebration of EID-E-Kabir coming on Friday 31 July, 2020.
The Command enjoin the good people of the State to be law abiding as adequate arrangements have been made at various praying grounds. In synergy with sisters security agencies and other civil volunteers in the State for the enforcement of law and order”.
The statement added that “Parents and guardians should always accompany their children with adults while going to Eid praying grounds so as to checkmate cases of missing children, accident or any unsolicited dealings.
Those going to EID praying grounds are advised to observe personal hygiene, social distancing, wear face mask and other COVID-19 preventives protocols”
The Police Boss warned that “Any group or Individual under whatever guise is warned to desist from any act or conduct that will cause breach of peace and breakdown of law and other. Whoever is caught engaging in such act will face the full wrath of the law”.
