C’River Assembly Speaker Commissions Classroom Block, Pays 169 Students School Fees in Agoi Ibami

The Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams today Commissioned a 9-classroom block with 16 toilets, a staff office and library at Community Secondary School, Agoi-Ibami, Yakurr LGA facilitated through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

During the Commissioning, The Speaker expressed hope that the people of Agoi Ibami deserved quality education and a brighter future for the youths. According to the lawmaker the future is for the Youths and advise them to show capacity to be responsible to hold it.

“I am pleased to facilitate this project we are commissioning today, it is one of my campaign promises to the people of Agoi Ibami and I gave priority attention to education because it is the future of our children and the leaders of tomorrow”, Speaker added.

The Honourable Speaker used the occasion to show his eloquent commitment of giving back to the society by paying school fees for all the students in the school from JSS1 to JSS3 classes.

He assured his constituents of more projects and promised to fulfill other promises, including the rehabilitation of the Mkpani-Agoi Ibami road and the electrification of the community.

Mr. Speaker went ahead to acknowledge the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for supporting him. “The success story we are celebrating today would not have been possible without his cooperation.”

Earlier the Principal, Community Secondary School, Agoi Ibami, Chief Obono Fidelis Ibiang during his speech appreciated, The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams for his effort to extend democratic dividends to the people of Agoi Ibami through the provision education facilities to the community.

Also, His Royal Highness, Attah Charles I. Ujong, the Clan Head of Agoi Ibami said the Community Secondary School had suffered neglect in terms of infrastructural intervention but today God had sent a saviour to remove the shame of Agoi Ibami community.

Attah expressed gratitude to their son, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams for fulfilling his campaign promises while reminding him of the other promises he made to them.
