The Vice Chancellor of Cross River University of Technology, Professor Augustine Angba, has admonished students to show interest in learning and development so that they can be good ambassadors of the university who can compete globally.
He gave this admonishment when he led the university’s management team to address students and staff of Okuku campus of the university yesterday.

Professor Angba reiterated his commitment to excellence and stated that his blueprints for Okuku campus of the university include:

  • Opening of an ultramodern hostel
  • Construction of an ultramodern faculty building
  • Modernising the mortuary unit by training interested staff and students
  • Provision of steady water as well as power supply on campus.

In addition, he announced that installation of street lights is already ongoing in the campus while installation of Airtel internet services is at the verge of completion.

The Vice Chancellor also informed the students that 100 mattresses have been donated to the university by a philanthropist, as a gesture of love and appreciation for the rebranding efforts of the current administration in the university.

However, he explained that students can only enjoy the aforementioned benefits when they pay their school fees promptly. Professor Angba likened the obligation of payment of school fees by students to payment of bride price by husbands in marriages.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor described his presence in Okuku campus of the university as peculiar and disclosed that several years ago, he graduated from that same location as a student of the prestigious Mary Knoll College.

Highlights of the visit to Okuku campus of CRUTECH were a lecture on safety guidelines against the spread of COVID 19 and a brief orientation on virtual learning for the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic session.

Okuku campus of CRUTECH accommodates the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences only.
